Senior Fitness Programming: What Works and What Doesn't
Design a fun, safe and effective senior fitness program. Learn the essential components that attract seniors to your exercise classes. This course will cover proper selection of music, safe exercises that are functionally effective, and important choreography techniques that help seniors feel successful. (ACE .3 CECs; This course has been approved by the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) for 2.75 Continuing Education Units (CEUs))

Exercise Based Fall Prevention for the Aging Population
Become the "Fall Prevention Specialist" in your facility! Specific "balance righting reactions" occur universally with loss of balance: reactions that exercise leaders can target with training. This workshop will explain "righting reactions" and offer instructors an exercise based approach to fall prevention in the elderly that merges recent research from the fields of motor control. sports performance, and senior strength training. Instruction is given in administering two brief assessments that project fall risk. (ACE .2 CECs; This course has been approved by the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) for 2.75 Continuing Education Units (CEUs))

Design Concepts from Physical Therapy & Sports Performance for High Intensity Senior Adult Training
As fitness instructors, we are looked on by many as the "exercise experts." Learn how to present fitness concepts of periodization, program design and adaptation that can be utilized effectively in achieving maximal gains for older adults, focusing on manipulation of volume and intensity of exercise.

3Cs.....Communication, Cueing and Choreography
Learn the important components to perfect your class presentation skills, including leadership, verbal and non-verbal cueing, and effective communication. Also, learn how to design your choreography using smooth and logical transitions, as well as ways to add variety to simple movement, enhancing your ability to "be all that you can be" as a group fitness instructor. Instructors will participate in a choreography exchange at the end of this workshop. (1.75 AFAA CEUs; 0.2 ACE CECs)
